Las Guerras Mambisas is the chronicle of thirty years of wars (1868-1898) that the Cuban supported against the Spanish, to gain their independence. There was no victory for anyone. The USA conquered Cuba and put an end to the fight. The text narrates the military operations, combats and skirmishes, the exhausting marches and the difficulties of getting supplies. Only the facts. Any interpretation is eluded. This one will stay at the expense of more wise peoples: everyone his or her own.
